She found her true calling later in life. With help from The Scholarship Fund, she is now an EMT and completing her paramedic training.
Shoniece’s Story
When I moved to the Dallas area in 2016, I already had an associate degree and was working as a Certified Nurse Assistant. I wanted to become a nurse, but I didn’t think there was any way I could afford the schooling.
When one of my patients told me about The Scholarship Fund, I applied right away. With the Fund’s help, I was able to complete a certification program that made it easier for me to be accepted into nursing school. It also qualified me to work in my current job—as an operating room technician at a major medical center.
Now, with additional help from the Fund, I’m working on my bachelor’s degree in nursing, starting a career that will allow me more opportunities than ever before. I am beyond excited and eternally grateful. Without The Scholarship Fund, none of this would have been possible.
