She is the first person in her family to graduate high school and, with help from The Scholarship Fund, the first to attend college. Now she is certified in Microsoft Office.
Irma’s Story
I am the first person in my family to have graduated high school and, with help from The Scholarship Fund, I became the first to go to college as well— attending community college while working full time.
Having had that opportunity to broaden my knowledge has helped me and my family more than you can imagine, providing a better life for them than I ever could have done on my own.
Recently, I went back to The Scholarship Fund to ask for help again. I have been working in the same office for many years and now that my boss is getting ready to retire, I needed to polish my skills to look for a new job.
With help from The Scholarship Fund, I was able to take classes in Microsoft Office and earn my certification. I know that will enable me to find the best possible job and continue to improve my family’s life.
